Leavitt and Parris was formed in 1919 with the merger of a sail and awning manufacturer. Two companies realized the benefit of working together under one roof and started off the future of our great company.
During the 1930s and '40s Leavitt and Parris extended its business to offer rental tents, cots and medical furniture for housing and hospital shortages during the Great Depression and World War II. This gradually expanded into the Party Rental business in the '50s and '60s adding chairs and tables to our inventory.
This gradual expansion of the rental business was also the end of our sail manufacturing. The focus primarily was on the awning division as well as the growth of the rental division.
Throughout the 70s and 80s the awning and custom fabric structure division expanded to offer products for the military. The rental division continued to grow offering mostly tents and party rentals for basic back yard parties and weddings, as well as fairs in festivals.
In 1988, the company was purchased by its current owner and a new direction was taken to bring Leavitt and Parris into the high quality product markets that we currently service today. We have grown to offer only the finest tent, temporary infrastructure, and party rentals not only locally, but throughout the nation. Our manufacturing division has also grown to offer numerous styles of custom awnings, tensile structures, canvas products, military and specialty fabric products on top of manufacturing the majority of tent and infrastructure fabric in house.
We are currently celebrating our 90th year in business and look forward to the future and what that brings for Leavitt and Parris, our employees and the relationships we have with our customers and associates. We excitedly look forward to the next 10 years and the celebration of 100 years in business! If you haven't been apart of our past we hope to work with you in the future!
